After receiving the first verbal complain, Im resuming my blog again.. wahaha.. Yeah, i stopped writing my blog for quite sometime.. Can i give my work as an excuse again?..
A few weeks back, i wrote about Nasi Kandar and the famous cendol at Jalan Penang..Well, that and a few more articles to come are series of short snippets of my little tour to Penang not too long ago..The guys and i were tagging along with some members who were here for the Penang bridge run..So, that's why we were in Penang..while group A had a marathon, group B had a 'food' marathon ; )..Obviously, i was in the latter group >.< style="font-style: italic;">mum mum lohh..oh yeah, we checked in prior to that too but i dont think youre interested in that right?
Honestly, i dont wanna brag too much about Khoo Kongsi cos i dont know much about the place and neither was i interested in all the history and stuff (but if you are, click
here). What i was really interested in however, was the intricate design and structure of the whole damn place..No wonder this place won the UNESCO world heritage thingy.. The carvings, the drawings, the culture - superb. Just cant think of any other place like it..i thoroughly recommend it..
Oh, and its just a clan house by the way (or Chinese association). Well, i thought it was a temple at first until clarified otherwise..This explains the defensive congregation of the buildings; the huge centre court, a single and long entrance, windows overlooking this entrance, secret chambers and access routes.. All these makes me wonder how ppl lived during those times.. seems like an era of chaos and turmoil to me..
