Tamarind Hills, Jalan Sultan Ismail
Published by Coconutkun under Food on 3/29/2010 10:57:00 PMWell, this goes against the norm..usually id post articles of lapuk events..this one is pretty recent actually..in conjunction with Lern's Bday just few days ago we were here at Tamarind Hills Kay Elle..Located opposite Concorde Hotel @ Jalan Sultan Ismail..Some will tell your it's located opposite Equatorial..some will say its near Hard Rock..and even a secluded alley just beside Caltex..dont listen to em'..LOL..its directly opposite Concorde..Beside what seems to be the biggest KFC building ive ever seen..LOL..Wisma KFC!
I give this place superb ratings for the ambiance..love it..there are two seatings; outdoor and indoor..outdoor is okiee, however, given Malaysian weather..the humidity is well err..uncomfortable to some extent..factor in mosquitoes and id recommend indoors anytime..mat sallehs on the other hand somehow loved the outdoor..i dont mind getting bitten in jungles but not at a place im paying RM 50 and above/pax meal..
Well, if youre looking at the food pictures, the place serves contemporary Thai and Burmese cuisine..If you're wondering what "contemporary" meant..it actually means that the food here have characteristics of present day/modern thai/burmese recipes..adapted and changed to suit present day living or lifestyle i presume..portions are small and putting it in apek terms, its basically a high class tai-chau (big chinese fry-up) style restaurant cum bar as well...We tried their beef, duck, chicken and lamb that day, and each having their distinct, unique flavour which makes this whole thing pretty interesting..Thumbs up to this place...We were here in a group of 5 guys and a girl, but really, this place is suitable for a one on one date ; )
