Bukit Gasing
Published by Coconutkun under Nature on 3/07/2009 11:03:00 AMI was told three things when my friend asked me to go Bukit Gasing: (1)Got many chicks...(2)got many cute dogs..and (3)its a very easy climb.. But honestly, i was there for the nature...really leh -.-" (sure many ppl dun believe)..
I went on to call the other guys for this trip and their responses were: "Bukit nia seng?" .."go for wat? protest isit?"(considering the controversy of Elizabeth Wong)...but we weren't there for all that crap..For the locals, the place is just the usual place for your daily morning walk routine. However, for us, we were excited that day cos the place was a new entry into our hiking encyclopedia.
I managed to grab 2 neighbourhood friends for the trip and the rest of the gang consisted of MBA part timers (mostly invited by the organiser Eugene), many whom which i have met during my course of study..It was nice to see familiar faces again. We reached Bkt Gasing around 815am that day..there were dozens of cars parked all along the road. The road was congested!
Bukit Gasing is located somewhere in PJ..in the middle of the hustle bustle of city life and tiba-tiba...aik, why got bukit here wan? The climb took about 40 minutes (depends on your level) and coming down was way faster. If you asked me, the climb was indeed easy BUT hmmm, there is really nothing much to see (as in scenery)...But i enjoyed the trip nontheless because of the company of friends i was with (the guys were really jokers), the hanging bridge, the nice workout and the free distribution of 100 pluses by someone..haha
Pic: there were 11 of us that day..
Bukit Gasing is actually a Taman Pendidikan set up but the local municiple councle together with co. HITACHI and WWF..On the day we went, i think we saw dozens of kids hiking up with their, erm, parents? or teachers?..the thing is, there were alot of kids! An article of Bukit Gasing came up recently in the papers stating that this place needs refurbishing..well, i couldnt agree better..Pls trim those trees at the peak-i cant see anything..
