Lan Je, Rawang

Lol, too syok sendiri already that i forgot my next article was suppose to be my revenge on the fish (for not letting me catch them on my first day of fishing)..i almost posted an article on Ampang look out instead (thanks for reminding me ; ))..Well, thats coming too, but for now, lets just settle for some great tasting wholesome fish, from Rawang..To start, lemme introduce to you Lan Je restaurant, the best place for fei zhou yue in and around Rawang..being a banana, i almost died laughing when i heard the translation ie. fei zhou yue lit. means Africa fish..wanna go eat Africa fish? faint..whats does Lan Je translate into then?><...focus on the subject! when the dish came out steaming hot that day; i should have known that the fish turned out to be the common black tilapia fish.. Since its common, what then sets it apart from other restaurants would either be (1)on the way it is prepared or (2)its freshness..ITS BOTH!..

Now, africa fish comes in 3 degrees; normal, spicy and hell..each level is determined by the amount of minced cili padi they thrown in..but all the same come with generous amounts of ginger and bean paste sauce..Chinese always prepare fresh water fishes this way as its takes off the mud taste..Other dishes such as their tofu, kung pao chic and vege are usuals and are great to have.. I know many ppl complain about the crowd, somehow i never seem to have the prob though..the tip is, to come at the right time..The price here is very reasonable and do try out their home made kaya too..they come in tin cans which are really classic...
