Tg. Harapan Seafood

Aiks..so dark and spooky...where are you guys going lah this time? Kita pergi Tg. Harapan...for seafood!...yeay!..Well, this place is getting a little commercialized now with biggie restaurants flourishing all along the coastal zone..As u drive along the coast, passing by these brightly lit restaurants, each of these restaurant employ some guys to literally stand in the middle of the road, perhaps block your way in some sense (so that you cant go further) and direct you to their parking bay and patronise their place. It seems very tempting to following their guide; since they emphatically insist you enter their parking bay, flashing their torchlights here and there..Dont be fooled..just go on..these places are a slaughterhouse...

Tg. is an abbreviation for the word 'Tanjung' which means cape. Harapan on the other hand, means Hope.. The cape of Hope! But locals here also call it Tg. Gila (Cape of Madness)..i guess when all hope fails, some just go crazy..For others, this place is where you can see stationary cars bouncing on their own..Occasionally a few cars displaying their blings2 and speakers..That aside, i think Tg. Gila is a nice place for an evening stroll..the cape has a neat view of the port actually..also, they have famous ikan bakar here too..

Going away from all the spotlight lies a cluster of older, more secluded and shabby looking restaurants.. These are at the end of the stretch of the road.which end? Well, one end lies the famous ikan bakar restaurant (this one is halal); the other end, non-halal is where the shabby restaurants lie(seen here in the pic)..Its here where it actually all started - all the "famous-for-seafood" thingy started.

We were on a guys night out that day..err, i mean night; We found ourselves walking through dark alleys and wooden planks/bridges to the restaurant that we were heading to..it's exciting!..The restaurant we were heading to was No.One Bagan Hailam Restaurant..As its name suggests, its No.1..LOL..So, here's my verdict; this place is kewl! At first its abit spooky and all (cos u have to pass thru dark alleys bla bla bla) but once you reach the restaurant, youll forget all that. Mind you, the restaurant in built on the ocean..it has a real nice view of some ports.. the dangling light bulbs really give it a family/romantic/party atmosphere (coconut is bullshiting again..how can it be romantic yet party atmosphere..somemore family)..err, dont know how to describe la but its nice..LOL..built on planks supported by stilts, some of the planks have crevices on them, so you could actually see whats beneath you; its the sea (Dont drop you keys)..probably there are some crabs and fishes down there just eagerly waiting for you to drop a piece of your meat.. (but then again horr, if i were to drop a piece of crab meat, would the crabs down there freak out to find a roasted version of their brother? 0.0.. Guess not..
