Short trip to Penang
Published by Coconutkun under Traveling on 2/27/2009 06:37:00 PM16th February 2009. Sand, sea, sun and girls...well, okie, girls didnt start with "s" but wth...and perhaps, u could add traffic jams, food and jelly fish into the equation too..the result? Penang...The Pearl of the Orient..its been quite awhile since i last went to Penang..I was called up for an interview and if it werent bcos of it, i guessed i would have missed a great deal of catching up to do with my old uni pals. The plan was simple; 2 days 1 night trip...attend the interview and back to Klang..

So off i went to Penang for this interview. I took me six hours to travel from Klang to Penang by bus..and throughout the journey, i helped Nepalese men troubleshoot their handphone sim card problems in the bus..i think next time ill charge for the service...and gosh, these guys had PDAs..its even better than my Sony Erisson..wtf..curi ke?

When i reached Penang, news that i was coming to town spread like wildfire within my ex-coursemates pals residing in Penang..I guess it could be attributed to a technology called "email"...or was it spamming...Lol...Boy, i really missed you guys...and chillin with you guys just brings me back to the good ol' days...

Ask anyone in Malaysia and theyll tell ya that Penang is a place of food...I was meant to post some pics on Char Kuey Tiews, Har Mee and ikan bakar, but i think ill just skip those cos the pictures didnt come out that good actually (cos they were taken in the dark -dinner time).. Anyways, here's one pic which i thought might be interesting..it isnt Penang's specialty but its enough to get ya thinking "Ew, what's that!!".. Well, its grilled horseshoe crab..least would i have known that we were eating her eggs actually...poor thing...if only i knew that she were pregnant. How did it taste like? it tasted like typical "hai kou" or literally crab eggs but lil on the burnt side..i wouldnt recommend it cos every fork of it tasted like you were chompin' down tons of cholesterol..super sinfull..My day ended with me hanging out at Queen's bay mall after my interview ..i didnt really had much time to visit Kek Lok Si, Siamese Temple and other popular places in Penang..Here are some pics for the record...cheers!
