Just Heavenly Pleasures, Damansara Heights

Published by Coconutkun under on 4/26/2010 08:35:00 PM
As im thinking about this place..trying to recall all the facts to write this article, there are two things that comes into mind..first, this place is so elusive!..and second, why no place to sit and enjoy the cakes gehh..

'Intro'ed by Mel, me and the guys attempted to try out this place for quite a number of times already but to no avail. We tried going on a Sunday (typically after our hikes) but they're closed! thinking its our timing fault, we tried coming earlier only to find out that they are not even open on that day -.-"..Second, this place pretty hard to find loh..or rather, i wouldn't have gone so deep into Damansara Heights just to look for or just happen to bump into this place if not recommended.. I mean, what are the odds..

So, after much complaining, here are the verdicts for the cakes sold here.Did i mention it's a cake shop? lol...4 cakes tried; 3 good, 1 mama tei.. Of the 4, one needs no introduction - its the famed durian choc cake (the pic with the cake having an almond on top) ~ a light choc shell enclosing durian fillings (wondering if it can be classified as cake)..just cracking the shell releases 'heavenly' aromatherapy...the pleasure part comes when u put in your mouth..Hence, the shop name Heavenly Pleasures..LOL..but personally, something is not right lo -i forgot which one, but i think the durian over-powers the choc abit...The butterscotch is good too (cake on the top left); requires heating before served..the cake looks cool and just as you were expecting it to look even cooler when it comes out from the microwave -.-" disappointment..everything melts into 'nothing' ness (cant find the word to describe)..Luckily managed to snap a 'before-enter-microwave' photo..

Fatty Mee Hoon Kuey

Published by Coconutkun under on 4/21/2010 09:30:00 PM
Mee Hoon Kuey served in metal clad bowls..b oy, it sure looks good.. steaming hot and very traditional like.just gotta love it...

Fatty Mee Hoon Kuey packs the crowds from mornings right up till lunch..the strange thing is,why it tastes like normal oni gehh? Well, adding egg does add an xtra umpph to this dish..imagine raw egg in hot bowling soup and just stirring it all in..Kimochii~..perhaps that's the answer besides another possibility which could be their crunchy ikan bilis...I think its just clear, light, hot mee hoon kuey, that just gets everyone going gaga..lastly, make sure u have at least 30 mins waiting time or so for your MHK to come; they make it bowl by bowl here, so its pretty slow..so while waiting, try out their cincau barley drink; which i think is super refreshing!..
All the commotion; dropped my lens cap into the drain -sigh!

Wahh..Babiii..

Wah..Babi!!..what a big chunk of meat..unfortunately, it isnt as tasty as it seems..

One fine day, me and the guys just went breakie crazy and decided to have two rounds of breakfast instead of one..-So, thats how i got so many things to write-..So yep, this time's session brings us to Taman Eng Ang to have what is termed as 'string' tied Bak Kut Teh..Klang's famous for its BKT, but rumours has it the higher level of BKT would be the string type variant..it goes on to say that by tying the meat, the compacted meat would absorb more flavor, the meat would be more tender and there would be lesser oil (ie. healthier la so to speak)..But theoretically, this does not conform with the general rule that if a food is nice, it has to be unhealthy..and logically, why would a meat absorb more flavor since it's compacted?

So here we are to tell for ourselves.. Unfortunately, this place didnt quite make it into our list..the meat was chunky; it wasnt tender and more importantly, the meat din soak up as much flavour as we expected..were our expectations too high? perhaps...I still have a number of ppl tellin me that the place serves great BKT but on a personal note, i beg to differ..I wonder when would be chance come for a second review..I guess it will never come, there is so many BKTs to check out..

PAINT BALL aka PAIN BALL..

Published by Coconutkun under on 4/08/2010 10:43:00 PM
Ahhh~ finally some time to myself..to unwind and chill by my lappie and just write about my stuff and sharing my experiences..but alamak tension la write abt this time's article - m reminded of the pain, the sweat, the adrenalin, the heat, bullets zipping pass and just pure concentrate of fun..the name of the game - PAINT BALL!

So here we are at Armada Paintball, Westports to play paintball ..Located scenically beside the wharf of Star Cruise, it seemed like our warzone setting was bound to be something from a Call of Duty or Counter Strike dockyard scene, only less dramatic.. As 'unpainfull' the word paint might seem, the pellets of paint do pack hell of a sting..I mean, who would have guessed that paint could cause so much pain..enclosed in a gelatin shell, the pellets break on impact causing paint to be smeared on the target..I mean, these shells are are able to withstand pressure that propel them at 90m/s, what were you thinking that they would be gentle/painless when they hit you..

Well, this is my second time playing paintball..my first experience was in Johor with my fellow course mates.. during those times, a single shot costed 20 cents..Now its down to probably 12 cents or so..not so bad..Typically, a gun (more accurately called a marker) is provided alongside with a vest and a face mask..For guys, i'd like to warn that no crotch protectors are provided, so you might wanna be xtra careful from getting hit @ your tenders..Face masks typically cover the whole of your face and ears while the vest covers from waist up, the chest and back..That means the back of your head, your arms, the side of your ribs, your butt, your jewels (for guys) and legs are vulnerable to direct hit..Therefore, you will need extra protection!; try wearing jeans, long sleeve and additional jacket..as painfull as the bruises seen here on the left might seem, they are not..i wonder why? prolly cos of the adrenalin that kicks in during the game, i think it somehow numbs the pain a lil..
